Father’s Day – Six Great Gift Suggestions for the Golfing Dad

Father’s Day – Six Great Gift Suggestions for the Golfing Dad

It’s that time of year again when you are trying to figure out just what to give Dad, besides a gift card. This becomes a really easy decision, if you simply go the gift card route, but it is rather impersonal to say the least.

Here are six great gifts any golfer would enjoy:

Free Personalization on the New Chrome Soft Golf Balls

The Chrome Soft Golf Ball is designed for Tour Proven performance with exceptional feel. The 4-piece construction and Dual SoftFast Core provide higher ball speeds and optimal spin rates to maximize performance through the bag.

Now through June 30th, Callaway is offering free personalization on The New Chrome Soft Golf Balls (white and yellow) online and in retail stores across the country.

GOLFBUDDY WTX GPS

The Full Color Touchscreen Golf GPS Watch

GOLFBUDDY WTX GPS Golf Buddy’s latest piece of wearable golf technology, the 2.2 ounce WTX Golf GPS Watch, is a great product, especially if you prefer GPS, versus hand-held laser measuring devices.

This unit features a stunning full color LCD display that’s easy to read at 1.2″. It has a fully responsive touch screen, so all the features are just
a tap away. You can even place the pin yourself for more accurate distances to the course you’re playing that day. Dynamic Green View gives you the most accurate distances to the front, middle and back of the greens by reading the golfer’s position, so you know exactly where you’re attacking the green from.

Never miss a notification during your round either. Simply pair this unit to your smartphone with Bluetooth technology and get all your texts, emails and alerts right on your wrist. Best of all, all course updates are free and automatic with the GolfBuddy smartphone app. No fees or subscriptions required!

Leupold GX-1i3 Range Finder

Leupold GX-1i3 Range FinderFor those golfers who need to know the exact distance to the flag or hazard, simply nobody beats Leupold products for accuracy and quality. Dad, as with other golfers, will appreciate the look, feel and handling of this new rangefinder.

Of all the laser rangefinders we have tested and used, our testing group found Leupold products to be second-to-none!

Using a custom algorithm that no other rangefinder has, TGR (True Golf Range) allows golfers to compensate for uphill shots that play long and downhill shots that play short.

Distance, speed and accuracy:
take your golf game to the next level with the ergonomically designed Leupold GX-1i3. The high performance DNA engine and advanced infrared laser provide faster distance measurements with accuracy displayed to within .5 of a yard.

Leupold’s high-performance DNA® (Digitally eNhanced Accuracy) engine and an advanced infrared laser deliver faster measurements with increased accuracy that is superior to GPS devices.

Their New PinHunter™ 3 Laser Technology increases the pulse rate, and as a result, the GX rangefinder ignores user movement to quickly identify and lock onto the flag or pin for extremely precise and fast target acquisition.

Other key features for the GX-1i3, beside the Fog Mode to cut through mist, is the audible Prism Lock Technology™ which allows golfers, including those with unsteady hands, to get their distances easily, quickly, and with extreme accuracy when a course is outfitted with reflective prisms. Maximum ranging distance on prisms is 700 yards.

The GX-1i3 is compact, weighing just 6.8 ounces, and measuring only 4.0 inches long, 2.5 inches high and 1.5 inches wide. GX-2i3 has a black LCD display for high contrast and clarity. Distance can be displayed in yards or meters.

The GX-1i3 is tournament legal, offering line-of-sight distance measurement only. The Black on Black armor color scheme enhances the unit’s appearance. It is rugged, compact, and completely waterproof.

With a Leupold  GX-1i3 rangefinder, Dad is  sure to shave strokes from his game.

These two training aids really work wonders- the Power Package Golf Swing Trainer and the Swing Coach.

My personal choice is the Power Package Golf Swing training device.

Power Package Golf Swing TrainerThe Power Package was developed by top-ranked golf instructor Chris Walkey, the Director of Instruction at the Palms Golf Club in La Quinta, California. This trainer, more than anything, will allow you to immediately feel a perfect swing. It can help any golfer learn to set the club properly and produce a pure, powerful, repeatable swing.

It also helps with:

  • Improper wrist set
  • Too flat or upright swing plane
  • Open or closed club face
  • Club too far across the line, or laid off
at the top of the backswing
  • Tendency to over swing and loss of width
  • Early release on downswing
  • Lack of body rotation through the ball

A 30-day money back guarantee is available

$79.99    www.powerpackagegolf.com

Swing CoachMy second choice is the Swing Coach, which is diametrically opposite to the Package Golf device. Its USP (Unique Sales proposition) is to give you instant feedback on what it
feels like to:

  • Train the proper acceleration and timing to achieve greater consistency, aka, perfect swing tempo
  • Fix your over the top, outside-in swing path to create more
    solid contact for improved accuracy
  • Acquire a proper release thru impact for greater club head speed and more distance
  • It is simple to use – just requiring three steps:
  • LOAD a regulation golf ball into the Swing Coach Club cradle
  • LAUNCH the ball towards a target with a smooth accelerating golf swing
  • LEARN from the ball flight of each practice swing and make small adjustments, until
the ball flight is online at the target.

A 30-day money back guarantee is available.

By visiting the Swing Coach web site, details and videos are available.

PING

nunchuck

Last year PING had the best-selling driver in the G30 model. This year, their new PING G has attracted a new set of devotees to the PING clan.
What the G driver offers is what every golfer desires – faster club head and ball speed. Using proprietary Turbulator Technology, VorTec and face/crown transition to combine for more efficient air flow, there is definitely a noticeable difference over the G30 version – all good.
The T9S Titanium face is thinner and hotter for maximum distance and deflection. The club’s adjustability with its 5-lobe hosel sleeve, allows ±1 degree of loft adjustment.
Another improvement is the DragonFly Technology –

Having problems with your swing? – Fix your slice! by Johnny Miller

I recently was examining swing sequences of some of the greatest players in history. Knowing that some of these players favored a draw as their standard shot while others preferred a fade, I sought to identify swing features within each group that would explain their respective ball-flight tendencies. Something profound emerged that I think will benefit all golfers, especially those cursed with a wicked slice.

What I found was this: Virtually every accomplished fader of the ball–from Jack Nicklaus to Tiger Woods–displayed a straight left arm at the top of the backswing. Conversely, those who preferred a draw–players like Arnold Palmer and Bobby Jones–maintained a slight bend at the elbow.

This discovery is great news for most slicers, as they tend to do by accident what intentional faders do on purpose. In this article I’ll explain why the dynamic works, and how a simple swing change will make a powerful draw your standard shot.
