The PGA Tour has returned, and it only took one round for someone to have a round that’s now rewritten the record books.
The first round of the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship at The Country Club of Jackson in Mississippi is in the books, and David Skinns was inches from shooting 59 on Thursday. He settled for a “disappointing” 60 and a new scoring record instead.
While the 42-year-old is on top of the leaderboard, a PGA Tour rookie is chasing. Also in the pack behind Skinns is Ben Griffin, the 54-hole leader last year who lost in a five-man playoff, and Gary Woodland, who continues to find his groove after his return from brain surgery.
