Pilot frees himself from wreckage after plane crashes onto Texas golf course

AUSTIN, Texas — A small airplane with a pilot as a single occupant crashed into a golf course in Lakeway on Sunday morning, Austin-Travis County EMS medics reported.

The pilot freed himself from the wreckage, medics said, adding that he was not injured and refused to be taken to a hospital. No one else was hurt.

Lake Travis Fire Rescue crews joined EMS personnel, who responded around 10 a.m. to the crash at 513 Flamingo Blvd., near The Hills Country Club-Live Oak Clubhouse.

EMS officials said crews would continue the cleanup of the wreckage and that no more updates were planned.
