The opening round of the 2023 FedEx Cup Playoffs is in the books and several top players find themselves at or near the top of the leaderboard.
Thanks to an opening-round 7-under 63, Jordan Spieth holds the 18-hole lead at the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.
Spieth kept the bogeys off the card and chipped in for an eagle at the par-5 16th late in his round. The Texan is winless on the season and entered the week on the outside looking in for the Tour Championship at East Lake. He would vault to No. 4 on the points list with a victory.
